ATLANTA – Today, Team Herschel released a statement on grocery prices recently reaching an all-time high in Georgia. Only a few days ago, Washington Democrats held a celebration at the White House for the poorly named “Inflation Reduction Act” while Georgians continue to struggle under record inflation and an economic recession.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently reported the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) for Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell increased 1.3 percent from June to August. The food index rose 2.8 percent from June to August, led by a 3.0 percent increase in the food at home index.

The food index advanced 12.6 percent for the 12 months ending in August. The food at home and the food away from home indexes each increased over the past year, up 14.6 percent and 9.8 percent, respectively.

“Georgians are so tired of being told things are going great by Raphael Warnock and Joe Biden while they are struggling to feed their families,” said spokesman Will Kiley. “Since Warnock went to Washington, grocery prices in Georgia have reached an all-time high. Washington Warnock should be asked why he continues to blindly support Biden’s agenda that has caused high prices for Georgia families. Georgians deserve a Senator who will actually work to lower costs for their families, not one who is all talk and political gimmicks.”
