ATLANTA – Today, Team Herschel released the following statement as Raphael Warnock refused to stand up for Georgia and oppose the Atlanta Braves changing their name.
Warnock told Fox News, “I am aware that the Braves organization is having conversations with the Native American community. I trust them to work through that process and come to a conclusion that makes sense.”
Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the White House was open to discussing changing the name of the reigning World Series Champion Atlanta Braves.
“Raphael Warnock continues to show how out of touch he is with Georgians,” said campaign spokesman Will Kiley. “The Braves are Georgia’s team, and instead of celebrating their World Championship as he should be, Warnock is talking himself in circles and refusing to support the reigning and future World Series Champions. It is sad that instead of being an advocate for the Peach State, Georgia’s junior Senator once again dodges commonsense. Georgia voters are tired of it.”
