ATLANTA – Today, Team Herschel released the following statement after Raphael Warnock refused to answer a question about the abysmal living conditions at Columbia Tower, the apartment complex his church oversees. When asked to comment on the mold and corpses at Columbia Tower, Warnock ran away from the camera.

According to a Free Beacon report: “A low-income apartment building owned by Raphael Warnock’s church is plagued by pests, maintenance problems, and filth, according to residents. Residents of the Columbia Tower at MLK Village complained about living conditions in the building, telling the Washington Free Beacon that garbage is left to pile up in the storage rooms for days, creating an ‘overwhelming trash smell,’ common areas aren’t maintained, and the air vents produce a ‘sickening’ amount of dust.”
Sadly however, it only gets worse.
According to another Free Beacon report: “A maintenance man charged with brutally murdering a tenant. A sex offender who slept in the hallways. A dead body left in an apartment for days, found covered in flies. These are just a few disturbing tales of the living conditions in apartments owned by Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D., Ga.) church, gathered from interviews with residents and hundreds of pages of Atlanta Police Department, Fire Department, and court records obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. Atlanta police and firefighters have been called to Columbia Tower and the Columbia Senior Residences at MLK Village in Atlanta hundreds of times since 2020, the records show. Responding officers have been met with corpses and people trapped in elevators, as well as fights, burglaries, and car thefts. Both buildings are owned by the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Warnock serves as senior pastor.”
“It’s no surprise that Raphael Warnock won’t answer questions about the dangerous and vile living conditions at Columbia Tower,” said campaign spokesman Will Kiley. “Time and time again, Warnock has proven that he is far more concerned with enriching himself and maintaining power than he is with helping the people of Georgia. Today further proved that point. Warnock receives a handsome, tax-free housing allowance of $7,400 a month from Ebenezer Baptist Church, while the people who live in Columbia Tower live amongst mold, garbage, and dead bodies. If Warnock refuses to prioritize the health and well-being of people entrusted to his care first – how can we possibly trust him to take care of Georgia?”
