Warnock is Too Little Too Late

ATLANTA – Today, Team Herschel released the following statement after Raphael Warnock sent a letter to the U.S. Treasury Department requesting flexibility for a tax credit he voted to remove when he voted for the poorly named Inflation Reduction Act.

The tax credit benefitted Kia, one of the largest employers in Georgia, and Hyundai, who is currently investing billions to build a new plant in the Savannah area. The bill Warnock voted for language also excluded Rivian, who is in the process of building planning and building a facility near Social Circle, GA.

“Raphael Warnock is once again trying to clean up his own mess,” said campaign spokesman Will Kiley. “Warnock has been talking nonstop and running ads around the state about his work on the Inflation Reducation Act, even though it includes language that would cripple Georgia’s manufacturing, kill jobs across the state, and hurt hard-working Georgia families. Maybe next time a massive bill comes up, Raphael Warnock will take the time to read the bill and how it would impact Georgia instead of blindly coming out in support a day after it is announced. Georgians deserve a Senator who actually gives a damn about them, fights for them, and takes responsibility for his actions.”
